TSC Announces 19,943 Promotion Vacancies for Teachers Across All Levels

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced 19,943 promotion vacancies for teachers in primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions as preparations for the 2025 academic year, starting in January, intensify.

This latest announcement follows a similar advertisement made in November 2024 targeting administrative roles. However, TSC has directed teachers who applied between November 12 and 18 to resubmit their applications, indicating a restart of the recruitment process.

Breakdown of Vacancies

The vacancies primarily cater to administrative roles and are distributed as follows:

Primary Schools

  • Senior Teacher I: 4,703 positions (Job Group C3)
  • Deputy Head Teacher II: 3,653 positions (Job Group C4)

Secondary Schools

  • Senior Master IV: 2,221 positions (Job Group C4)
  • Deputy Principal III: 1,408 positions (Job Group D1)
  • Senior Master III: 1,987 positions (Job Group C5)

Headteachers and Principals

  • Headteachers: 2,130 positions (Job Group C5)
  • Deputy Principal II: 786 positions (Job Group D2)
  • Principals: 652 positions (Job Group D3)
  • Senior Head Teacher: 254 positions (Job Group D1)
  • Senior Principal: 126 positions (Job Group D4)

Tertiary Institutions

Opportunities are also available in teacher training colleges (TTCs) and other tertiary institutions, including:

  • Chief Principal: 44 positions in regular schools and three in TTCs (Job Group D5)
  • Deputy Principal: Three positions in TTCs
  • Senior Lecturer I-IV: 176 positions
  • Lecturer I: Seven positions

Special Needs Education

In Special Needs Education institutions, vacancies include:

  • Senior Teacher I: 77 positions
  • Senior Teacher II: 81 positions
  • Senior Head Teacher: Seven positions
  • Headteachers: 33 positions
