President William Ruto continues to strengthen his ties with faith-based institutions, hosting another group of religious leaders at State House, Nairobi
In a statement shared on his X account, President Ruto announced his meeting with the Igembe Pastors Network from Meru, led by Bishop Sammy Festus. Highlighting the government’s collaboration with religious organizations, the president acknowledged their critical role in fostering morality, virtue, and national cohesion.
“Religious organizations play a critical role in evangelization and the promotion of morality and virtue. They are also key partners with the government in advocating for peace, stability, and unity,” President Ruto stated.
This meeting comes shortly after an engagement on December 11, 2024, where the president hosted Evangelical and Pentecostal church leaders, including Redeemed Gospel Church Presiding Bishop Kepha Omae. These discussions aimed to nurture harmony between the church and state amidst rising tensions.
During the December 11 dialogue, Ruto praised the church’s contributions to social services such as education, healthcare, and supporting vulnerable communities. He reaffirmed the partnership, saying, “Religious faiths and the state serve the same people and have always worked together to ensure cohesion and provide critical services. We remain committed to maintaining this partnership.”
