President William Ruto has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Head of Public Service, Mr. Felix Koskei, following the passing of his sister, Mrs. Esther Chebet Rugut.
In his message of sympathy, President Ruto described Mrs. Rugut as a leader who left behind a profound legacy of women’s empowerment, strong family values, and dedicated service to the community.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs. Esther Chebet Rugut, sister to the Head of Public Service, Mr. Felix Koskei. Mrs. Rugut was a dedicated leader in her community who left behind a legacy of women’s empowerment, service, and strong family values. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her,” President Ruto stated.
The President further expressed solidarity with Koskei and his family during this difficult time.
“Our heartfelt condolences to Koskei and the entire family. May her soul rest in eternal peace.”
Felix Koskei, in an emotional Facebook post, mourned his sister, celebrating her legacy.
“Fare thee well, my dear sister Esther. We celebrate your legacy of women empowerment and shall abide by your wishes as we lay you to rest tomorrow,” Koskei said.
First Lady Rachel Ruto also joined national leaders and Kenyans in condoling with Koskei’s family.
“Our heartfelt condolences to Koskei and the entire family. May you find comfort and strength as you mourn the loss of your dear sister, Chebet. Our thoughts and prayers are with you,” she said in a statement.
Mrs. Esther Chebet Rugut will be laid to rest on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
The Office of the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, led by Koskei, plays a key role in coordinating government operations, supervising staff, and facilitating communication between ministries, state departments, and agencies. The institution comprises critical departments, including the Office of the Principal Administrative Secretary, Assurance Services, and Administration, among others.
