One Fisherman feared dead As Boat Capsizes At Ogenya Beach-Kadibo Sub-County

One fisherman is missing while three others rescued after their fishing boat capsized at Ogenya in Kabonyo Kanyagwal Ward, Kadibo Sub County, Nyando Constituency

Speaking to Kisasa News, Secretary of Ogenya BMU Mr. Collins Otieno Onyango said he received report that the four fishermen left Ogenya beach on Saturday at 9:30 pm towards Amboo beach aboard the boat when the accident happened along Kouya channel.

The boat capsized following a heavy storm between Ogenya and Kouya beach

Three fishermen survived but one Jamari Adongo Ocholla never showed up and is believed to have drowned. Efforts to save him were futile.

The body is yet to be retrieved from the lake and the search and rescue operation is ongoing.
