Nairobi Lawyer Steve Ogolla in Tears After Losing Ksh 500K In A Fake Online Relationship With A ‘Wo-man’

A city lawyer is counting losses after a ‘woman’ he met on Facebook allegedly conned him of KSh 500,000.

Steve Ogolla in his facebook post narrated how he entered into a relationship with a ‘woman’s identified as Dorcas Sarkozy on Facebook, the two fell in love and went ahead to an extent of planning a wedding with a woman he had never seen in his life outside social media

The started planning a wedding, Ogolla sent his baby love ksh 500,000 to cater for their wedding expenses but noticed later he had made a terrible decision.

Dorcas, believed to be man, received the money and went into hiding, he blocked Ogolla on Facebook.

While narrating the ordeal on his Facebook page, the confusion brought the high flying lawyer from Nyanza to the point of even contemplating suicide.

At first, Ogolla tried to report the matter to the authorities but after frustrations, he gave up the fight.

  • “I reported to authorities but ‘she’ came back and blackmailed me by sharing my private love WhatsApp chats with her to third parties,” Ogolla added.

Many people failed to understand how a highly learned person ended up being duped in the most callous and effortless manner terming the story as a hoax. They can’t believe an intelligent lawyer of Ogolla’s class can fall into such cheap conning schemes, while others express their sympathy saying anything is possible in the cyberspace

The last time Dorcas made headlines, she was quoted accusing journalist Enock Sikolia of cheating on his wife.

Reacting to current online story trending, Steve thanked Kenyans for their concerns but quickly to say that the story as a recollection of a past experience of online extortion which happened in May 2018. He said it was picked from a friend’s facebook post, adding that he has since moved on. He is currently in Mombasa Serena enjoying his holidays upto Jan. 3, 2020.
