‘My Mentor Has Fallen’ -Lawy Jakabonyo Mourns Abeny Jachiga

The ‘Kasinda’ hit maker succumbed after a short illness at St Jairus Private Hospital on the morning of Thursday, June 11, 2020

Speaking to Kisasa News on phone, Lawy Jakabonyo, a popular ohangla artist in Kisumu who was also mentored by the late artist said Jachiga had been complaining of abdominal pain for awhile but was reluctant to seek proper medical attention. He instead resorted to over the counter pain killers.

Lawy described Abenny as a polite and down-to-earth friend adding that he has lost a mentor who made him where he is today.

His popular hits included Simba manyo, Wendo, Ayaye, Nancy Nyaugenya and Hera among others.

Other several artists Jachiga mentored include Boss wuod Nyasembo, Awilo Jakatolo , pianist Osto among others.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
