Despite court order barring the removal of Isaac Mwaura aka ‘Muthungu wa Ruiru‘ as a nominated senator, IEBC has already gazetted Sammy Leshore as his replacement.
In a gazette notice dated May 10, 2021, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) gazetted former Samburu Senator Sammy Prisa Leshore to replace former Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura.
The embattled legislator through Milimani High Court had on Tuesday, May 11 issued an injunction stopping the implementation of his removal as a senator, until a case he had filed is heard and determined.
Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka on Tuesday declared Mwaura’s seat vacant in Gazette Notice dated 10th May 2021, following Mwaura’s expulsion from the ruling party register. Mwaura now stands disqualified and his place taken up by Sammy Leshore who represent people with disabilities in Jubilee Party.
