At this point, Caleb became suspicion and asked them why they were working on a public holiday while the Kisumu County offices were closed? As the panic stricken suspects started moving out of the compound, Caleb raised alarm attracting neighborhood who responded immediately.

The suspects jumped into their vehicle which had former Kisumu Municipal Council registration KBQ 186D and sped off as residents in hot pursuit with crude weapons.
