Kenyan TikTok sensation Petyzea has survived a chilling three-day kidnapping ordeal in Abu Dhabi.
In an emotional interview with Kisasa News, Petyzea, shared her traumatic experience.
Now recovering at her employer’s sister’s residence, she described the event as “life-altering and deeply frightening.”
The ordeal began late one evening as Petyzea left her employer’s home.
“It was 11 p.m. when it happened,” she recounted. “I was unlocking the gate when two men suddenly grabbed me. I screamed, but before I could process what was happening, they forced me into a car that was parked nearby and sped off.”
Her captors—two men and a woman—subjected her to unrelenting psychological and physical abuse.
“The woman kept slapping me, and I wasn’t given any food for three days. By the time they released me, I was so weak I could barely stand,” she revealed.
The motive of the abduction appeared to revolve around her employer, a businessperson who was out of the country on a business trip in Turkey. Petyzea disclosed,
“They didn’t tell me much, but I overheard them threatening my boss over the phone, demanding money. They told him if he didn’t send what they wanted, they would kill me.”
She was held in a residential property within Abu Dhabi’s Al Karama area, though her captors attempted to disorient her by driving around aimlessly before arriving at their hideout.
“When I asked about the location, I was told it wasn’t far from where I lived. But it felt like we were going in circles to confuse me,” Petyzea explained.
Her release came after three agonizing days, but her kidnappers remain at large. Abu Dhabi authorities have launched a full-scale investigation, and Petyzea hopes justice will prevail.
Reflecting on the experience, Petyzea expressed both gratitude and lingering fear. “I’m still in shock and unwell, but I’m so thankful to be alive,” she said, acknowledging the emotional scars that remain.
Petyzea’s resilience and bravery in the face of this ordeal highlight the urgent need for global solidarity in addressing the risks faced by millions of expatriates.
As she focuses on healing, her story serves as a stark reminder of the challenges of working far from home—and the strength it takes to overcome them.
