The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) of Kenya has announced the recall of a specific batch of Sure lubricated dotted condoms following concerns over substandard quality.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the PPB confirmed that samples from Batch No. 2405055 had failed mandatory quality checks, including the critical “freedom from holes” conductivity test.
“As a precautionary measure, the board strongly advises all pharmaceutical outlets, healthcare facilities, healthcare professionals, and members of the public to immediately quarantine the affected products,” the statement said.
The PPB has directed distributors, retailers, and consumers to cease the sale, distribution, or use of the affected batch. Consumers are encouraged to return any impacted products to their nearest healthcare facility or an authorized distributor.
The board reaffirmed its dedication to protecting public health by ensuring that all medicines and medical products in the market meet stringent safety and quality standards.
