DCI Are Investigating Generator Theft At NIA West Kano Irrigation Scheme – Kadibo

Police have launched an investigation into the theft of a red Honda generator, which was intercepted by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) at the Nyamasaria Patrol Base on Wednesday, 2nd October, 2024. The suspect, identified as Evans Ongere, alias Agwata, was apprehended in connection with the stolen equipment.

The generator is alleged to have been stolen from the National Irrigation Authority’s West Kano Irrigation Scheme, located in Kawino North, Kabonyo Kanyagwal Ward, Kadibo Division, Kisumu County. Following inquiries, authorities confirmed the generator’s identity after it was positively identified by the security officer in charge of the Irrigation Scheme.

The case has been officially recorded under OB03/02/10/2024. After the initial arrest, Nyamasaria DCI officers transferred both the suspect and the generator to Rabuor Police Station, where the theft occurred. The suspect is currently awaiting arraignment in court as investigations continue.
