Beware!! Boiled Eggs Sold By Food Street Vendors Unfit For Consumption

Eating boiled eggs from street food vendors is seen as a cheaper alternative which saves cooking costs and time. But Consuming such foods expose you to life-threatening bacteria that could be more expensive in treatment.

Samples of boiled eggs and the popular kachumbari salad were collected from different strategically selected points of the city. These spots were major eateries for commuters to different parts of the city like Kenneth Matiba Road, (formerly Accra Road), Tea Room, Odeon Cinema, Railway Station and Bus Station areas.

Those spots handle thousands of commuters each day, mostly forming a small queue of men and a few women waiting for their turn to be served boiled eggs cracked open and sprinkled with a pinch of salt and a scoop of kachumbari added to flavour as others pack away.
