A middle-aged man has been arrested in Kabonyo Kanyagwal ward, Nyando sub-county after he was caught slaughtering a goat inside a classroom.
Joel Otieno Omega popularly known as ‘Oseyo’ who is married to three wives first ventured into livestock business, dealing mainly in sheep and goat. After the closure of livestock markets due to COVID-19 pandemic, Oseyo joined a slaughter house in Rabuor market where has been working.
According to the area Chief Mr. Amos Odeny, there has been an outcry from the residents complaining the disappearance of livestock in the area.
Chief Amos said he received information yesterday that remains of a sheep including head was spotted dumped at Siany Kabonyo primary school. On Tuesday morning he was joined by the community to visit the scene to identify the carcass, upon arrival at the school they caught the suspect red handed slaughtering another goat inside the classroom. He tried to escape but he was cornered and arrested. He was taken to Chief’s office for interrogation.
