(EACC) is questioning the release and use of
Kisumu Governor’s controversial Toyota Land Cruiser whose purchase still remains the subject of a probe on alleged procurement flaws

According to the EACC, when Governor Nyong’o was away in Qatar, the Sh19 million Toyota Land Cruiser V8 was released form the yard where it was parked, and was being used by the his wife Dorothy Nyong’o to inspect various projects in the town.

Mrs Nyongo was spotted using the  controversial fuel guzzler at the Acacia Premier Hotel during the launch of the cancer registry.

She was also seen at the Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground and the newly refurbished social centre.

While speaking to the local media, EACC’s Nyanza region boss Mr Aura Chibole says these are some of the challenges they arei facing in the region

“These are some of the challenges we have. We were not even aware the vehicle had left the yard where it should be parked to date. Its absence there now turns into another investigation on how it left the yard despite the ongoing probe,” said Mr Chibole,

Mr Chibole revealed that the investigations of the vehicle took them to Mombasa port to track how the vehicle found its way into the country.

He added that the Financial analysis of the vehicle which was bought after Nyong’o’s predecessor Jack Ranguma left the office will be submitted to the DPP once the investigations are complete

Earlier on, Governor Nyong’o had refused to use the vehicle, saying he wanted it was officially registered first
