Moi University School of Law (MUSOL) has once again stamped its authority in legal excellence after winning the Best Respondents’ Memorial at the Second Edition of the Supreme Court Moot Court Competition, 2025, held in Nairobi.

The triumphant MUSOL team — composed of Dolla Joseph, Tracy Mwangala, and Brian Ochieng — showcased outstanding legal research, sharp analytical ability, and impeccable drafting skills that impressed the judges at Kenya’s apex court. The trio also emerged top in the Preliminary Ranking, a remarkable feat that affirmed the depth of their preparation and mastery of legal argumentation.

Accompanied by Dr. Ngulu, the MUSOL Moot Court Patron, the team represented the university with distinction, defending their submissions with confidence and intellectual rigor. Dr. Ngulu praised the students for their commitment and discipline, describing their win as “a testament to the strength of MUSOL’s moot culture and the institution’s unwavering support for practical legal training.”

This year’s competition brought together top law schools from across the country, all battling to demonstrate supremacy in legal reasoning before experienced advocates, academics, and judicial officers. The MUSOL team’s double victory — best memorial and best preliminary team — not only elevates the school’s national profile but also sets a high standard for future competitors.

Student leaders and faculty members have lauded the team for bringing pride to the institution. “MUSOL continues to shape future legal minds who can stand before any court with competence and courage,” said one senior lecturer.

The success adds to Moi University School of Law’s growing legacy in moot court competitions, reinforcing its position as one of Kenya’s leading centers for legal training and mentorship.
