Why Julius Bitok Will Transform Uasin Gishu County As Governor

Ambassador Julius Bitok was born and raised in a humble background in Eldoret South Uasin Gishu county.When he was a young boy he would often have to walk 10km to school barefoot everyday and would often have to sell eggs to make a trip to the Kenya Library Service in Eldoret where he would study during his free time.

He started his education in Kaptuktuk Primary School then proceeded to Arnesens and later transferred to Chebisaas Secondary School.He proceeded to Kenya Science Teachers College for a Diploma Course then later joined Moi university for undergraduate studies and after that University of Nairobi for his MBA.After graduating with flying colours he joined Oklahoma State University (USA) for a PhD in Finance.

In his 20s Mr Bitok was a teacher because he loved imparting knowledge on students and has a soft spot for children.Having started as a teacher then lecturer then diplomat is proof that anyone can make it in life.

Mr Bitok started from a humble background and made something out of himself and he inspires many to know that if he could do it then they can do it as well.


Julius has always had a deep passion for politics since he was young.He has a calling to serve and help members of the community.He started off as a student leader at Kenya Science, Moi University and later University of Nairobi.Where he is admired and praised for being a servant leader till today.

Mr Bitok in a statement he read while at Kenya Science as a student states,” I am passionate about serving the people and assisting the less fortunate.”

Mr Bitok strongly believes he can change Uasingishu positively. He has travelled widely and seen countries where governments serve their people effectively.

He has seen our people suffer because of poor leadership and wants to change this.Having had immense experience in management, international connections for investment and making Pakistan the largest importer of tea.He is reliable and will transform Uasingishu for the better.

Some of Mr Bitok’s core objectives in his manifesto are youth empowerment, agribusiness and value addition, services to the people, free health care and getting markets where we will export our products.

What makes Mr Bitok stand out as a leader is that he is a good listener,he is approachable,he loves embracing new ideas and tries to understand things before acting. He is a team player and will work well with MCA’s for sure.Mr Bitok will set up structures that government can run without you having to know someone to get a service. He will also build Eldoret town into a modern city that everyone will be proud of.He intends to introduce stimulus packages for small businesses, create innovation centers for startups,engage strategic investors using his networks to invest more in Uasin Gishu. According to him we must incubate our ideas for long term benefits.In his first 100 days he will ensure all unnecessary licenses for small businesses are scrapped, ensure quick delivery of services, form an inclusive cabinet that accommodates all residents of Uasin Gishu county, subsidize agriculture inputs and sign agreements that will see more agriculture products are exported from Uasin Gishu County.
