Hundreds of Kenyans thronged supermarkets and chemists to purchase sanitizers barely hours after the government confirmed the first case of Coronavirus in the country.
But a spot check by Kisasa News on Friday revealed that most Suprmarket outlets had run out of alcoholic wet wipes. The shopping rush saw commodities like sanitizers and masks cleared from shelves even after prices tripled.
Long queues of shoppers witnessed at various Supermarkets in Nairobi had also huge trolleys full of quantities of milk, eggs, flour, rice, and dry cereals, foodstuffs and Cleaning wares
Hand sanitizer is a liquid generally used to decrease infectious agents on the hands. Formulations of the alcohol-based type are preferable to hand washing with soap and water in most situations in the healthcare setting. It is generally more effective at killing microorganisms and better tolerated than soap and water.
