Mr Obado who has been adversely mentioned in the case and whose personal assistant Michael Oyamo is in remand was called in by detectives for questioning.

The Governor who arrived at the Kisumu regional police headquarter in his White Toyota Prado some minutes after 10:00AM headed straight into regional office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

When a postmortem was performed on Sharon’s body by chief government pathologist Johansen Oduor last week, Obado dispatched his lawyer Cliff Ombeta to witness.

Last week, the homicide team was dispatched to Migori and Homa Bay has so far recorded statements from seven people, including Sharon’s parents and friends. They have all implicated Obado.

Kisasanews.com has reliably established that Nation journalist Barrack Oduor who was abducted together with Ms Otieno is also being grilled by homicide detectives.

Mr Oduor alleged that he and Sharon Otieno were to meet the PA to Governor Okoth Obado on the night they were abducted.

Since Sharon was abducted on Monday last week, Mr Obado has not been seen in public.

Police sources familiar to the investigations told Kisasanews.com, Obado is expected to tell the sleuths what he knows about the murder.

This as Oyamo, the key suspects in the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno, briefly walked to freedom on Tuesday before he was re-arrested by waiting police officers.

According to Homa Bay County Police Commander Marius Tum, Police had released Oyamo after they had failed to produce him in court where his lawyers were waiting for him.

Upon walking out of Homa Bay Police Station, detectives were waiting outside pounced on the former military man and bundled him into awaiting vehicle.

According to sources, Michael Oyamo will be ferried to the Nairobi, where he is expected to be arraigned at the High Court in Milimani on Wednesday.
