According to neighbours, the 35 year old victim had been having sex with his mother for a long time, something known to the public.

The younger brother is alleged to have gone to his mother’s house at around 11pm after he heard people talking inside. His attempts to speak to his mother proved futile since nobody responded. He decided to break the window only to find his elder brother in bed his mother. The two were allegedly too drunk to identify the person who had broken the window.

When the victim was attacked by his brother, who was armed with a panga before calling neighbours to witness what was going on. the neighbours found the deceased lying in a pool of blood while his mother was in bed drunk. By the time Police arrived about three hours later, he had already succumbed to the injuries.

The deceased’s sister said her elder brother was not married and frequently stays late into the night in their mother’s house. Their father works in Nairobi and has not been home for the last two months.

Confirming the incident, the Kisii County Police Commander Jebel Ngere said that they had been informed by the public about the incident that the deceased was caught having sex with his biological mother, adding that said the woman was arrested and is assisting police with investigations while the suspect who hacked his brother is still at large.

The Police urged the locals to desist from taking the law into their own hands and instead they should report culprits to relevant authorities.

The victim’s body was moved to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
