Banja was born and raised in central sakwa ward in Bondo constituency. He was raised in a humble background and had to fend for himself at an early age.

Banja would often fish and sell his fish to eat and also to help support the family.

Banja worked in several companies in Nairobi before starting his very own Internet installation company APS.

While he was in college he started initiatives that improved the lives of members of the community in Bondo. He has always been an advocate for quality healthcare and education that is why I took it upon myself to educate needy children especially those who were locked out from the cdf kitty for one reason or another.

Healthcare is also a very big problem in Bondo constituency. Many women and children lose their lives daily due to few health facilities something that forces many people to walk long distances to access hospitals. As a solution Banja set up mobile health clinics that targeted women and children specifically in areas where there are few or no health facilities. This made the mortality rate go down drastically.

Dorothy Akinyi told us exclusively, “Banja has saved the lives of many women and children. We had to travel long distances to go to hospital. Some people would give up and pass away at home the mobile health clinics has saved the lives of so many women and children.”

As many of you know Bondo receives the lowest rainfall in Nyanza yet the government has refused to classify it as a semi arid area. With this in mind Banja opted to dig several water pans for the people especially farmers who found it easier to water their crops especially during the dry seasons.

After witnessing the issues that farmers are facing he helped them get access to markets for their produce something that saw many farmers get empowered economically.

He also helped farmers and fishermen access loans through teaching them table banking this enabled them to raise enough money to get loans.

As a result of this farmers were able to buy farming equipment, fertilizers, pesticides and fishermen were able to get cold stores for their fish. They could transport their fish in the hot weather in perfectly good condition to the nearest towns and sell them at a profit.

Banja has also been an advocate for the weak and vulrenable helping many widows reclaim their land. He has helped many households access water and electricity.

Sanitation is one of the biggest problems that Bondo is facing because of this Banja partnered with some organizations to dig up latrines for schools.

When the Covid-19 pandemic hit last year Banja and his team and visited many people and gave them masks, sanitizers and food that could get them through a couple of months.

Banja is a man who stands for change and given the opportunity he can turn Bondo around.
