Extortion case against Blogger Cyprian Nyakundi took a new twist after he was on Tuesday freed on free Bond.
His lawyer Cliff Ombetta protested that the sting operation that led to his client’s arrest was a set up by one of Akasha brothers son Tinta Akasha aimed at planting money and media on the scene in order the set him up.
Tinta Akasha’s attempts to access CCTV footage at westgate did not succeed.
His lawyer Cliff Ombeta protested the move by DCI to detain his client, demanding that he be released either on police bond or he be presented in court.
Nyakundi was finally released with no charges brought against him.

Nyakundi was arrested by DCI on monday alongside Emmanuel Nyamweya Ong’era at the Westgate Mall on alleged extortion racket of Sh1 million from from Victoria Bank executives in order for them to pull down libelous articles from their website.
Nyakundi denied reports that he had made a deal for out of court settlement as reported by standard.
He accused Tinta Akasha, the lead investigator, in the Sting operation, the DCI and media of giving false information.
