Uhuru’s Jubilee party now says they’ve secured two venues for Jubilee NDC after being denied access to Bomas

The party’s secretary general Jeremiah Kioni has revealed that the party has reserved two more locations for the National Delegates Convention (NDC) on Monday.

Speaking on K24, Kioni added that party members would subsequently be informed of the locations. However, he pointed out that the locations are in Nairobi.

The Kenya Kwanza government, according to Kioni, has plans to ensure that the party does not hold the NDC.

“We know that this is part of the government’s scheme to ensure that we do not hold the NDC but we want to assure the delegates of Jubilee that the NDC will be there on Monday,” he said.

“We have actually secured more venues including private venues so that in the event that all government agencies are instructed not to host us, we will still go the NDC but within Nairobi.”

Kioni said they had also approached the Agricultural Society of Kenya to host them but they said they’d communicate with them later.

Kioni’s remarks come after the Bomas of Kenya declined to allow the party to hold its NDC at the auditorium.

In a letter, the Bomas management said the auditorium was under renovation for the next eight weeks, while other venues within Bomas were fully booked.

“Our main Auditorium, whose capacity is 2,000 pax, has been scheduled for renovation works from 16th May 2023 for eight (8) weeks,” the statement addressed to acting executive director Polycarp Hinga read.

“In view of the foregoing, we are regrettably unable to host you for your NDC on 22nd May 2023.”
