Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Thursday February 13 launched an appeal to assist 76 year old Nathan Ambuti, who cycled from Kakamega County to Kabarak to attend the former President Moi’s funeral.
Taking to his social media, Nairobi Governor appealed for information that would make him contact the cyclist, to save him the trouble of using his bike to travel back to Butere.
Governor Mike Sonko today Friday, February 14 surprised Mzee Nathan Abuti with a motorbike, posho mill and some valentine flowers.
According to media reports, when Mzee Abuti arrived at Moi’s residence in Kabarak on Tuesday, February 11 on his pimped bike decorated with different flags, he was first turned away by security officers at the gate and told to return the next day, when the burial would be taking place.
He was, however, later allowed in after the intervention of senior members of the Moi family, after which he was allowed to sign the condolence book and mourn the former president.
