Controversial Blogger Cyprian Nyakundi was charged on Friday alongside Emmanuel Nyamweya Ongera for allegedly extorting Sh1 million from Yogesh Pattni, the CEO Victoria Commercial Bank Limited.
The offence was committed on January 20 at the Westgate Shopping Mall in Nairobi.

The two are said to have extorted the cash as a down payment for an earlier agreed Sh17.5 million. The bribe was a precondition to pull down libellous content from Nyakundi’s blog.
Both Nyakundi and Ongera denied the charges preferred against them before Milimani senior resident magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot.
Nyakundi is represented by four lawyers including Cliff Ombeta and Danstan Omari have been released on Sh300,000 cash bail each, case to be mentioned on February 7.
