Another Depressed Police Officer Commits Suicide, Leaves A Note On Facebook

Seth Ojwang hanged himself in his house using a piece of clothes.

The 33-year-old Prison warder took to Facebook to write a suicide note before he ultimately proceeded to take his own life by hanging himself.

“By the time you are reading this ntakuwa nmeenda. Mahali nimefika am just done. I Am tired of the life am leading. Diana my love I love you more than I love myself. Emanuamel Omoit I leave my family to you take care of them coz you know my wife more than I know her. Am done with this life. Don’t try to take any that belongs to my boy. I sign out. I live with the bullet I die by one,” wrote Seth Ojwang.

The police report indicated that the deceased was a Kenya Prisons warder who was stationed in Siaya and that he had only traveled back home for annual leave.

The family members alleged that the deceased had a history of domestic feuds with his now estranged wife something that made him resorting to heavy drinking,” read police report.

The report continues;

“Before he met his death, according to his brother Felix Ojwang, in the recent past, the deceased used social media in sending threatening messages touching on his life. The scene was visited by the OCS in the company of officers from the DCI and the scene of the crime officer. The scene was then documented and the body was later transported to Rosewood nursing home mortuary in Rongo. Case R.U.I. DCI Rongo dealing.”

According to the note, the deceased was depressed and had gotten tired of the life he was leading – without elaborating on his source of stress and tribulation.

Family members said that the deceased had a history of domestic feuds with his now-estranged wife something that made him resorting to heavy drinking.

Suicide among police officers has also increased substantially. Several cases of cops taking their own lives have been reported this month alone.

Ojwang is the latest officer to kill himself in the latest trend of law enforcement officers committing suicide and leaving behind note.

On Tuesday, July 27th, a police constable stationed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) committed suicide and left behind a note for his son.

The late police constable Caroline Kangogo who killed her colleague constable John Ogweno and another man Peter Njiru Ndwiga before she shot herself.
