Five people have been confirmed dead in a road accident involving a matatu at Jubat area near Londiani junction on the Kericho-Nakuru highway.
According to Londiani OCPD, Mr. Joseph Mutungi, driver of the matatu lost control of his vehicle and rolled several times before landing in a ditch full of stones after its rear left tyre burst.
Three people died on the spot while two others succumbed to their injuries. Five other passengers sustained serious injuries and were treated at the Londiani sub-county hospital.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to Molo sub-county hospital mortuary.
